I am Mrs. Danielle Vind. I have been teaching at Edison Middle School for 16 years. For my first 11 years I was a Special Education teacher. I've spent the last 5 years as a 7th grade teacher. I went to UW-Whitewater for my undergraduate degree in Special Education. I received my Masters in Education from Aurora University. I am married and we have 3 children; my oldest daughter Savannah is in 7th grade, Mady (Madelyn) is in 2nd grade and Parker is in Kindergarten.
2017 - 2018 School Year
ReadingIn reading this year we will be focusing on the Standards set forth on the standards based report cards. Your child will be expected to read a classroom chapter book and a variety of texts. We will be using a reading and language curriculum called Springboard for most of our instruction. Students will also be learning quarterly vocabulary or Latin Stems. They will be using computer web sites to reinforce learning new vocabulary. We will also be focusing on vocabulary and word understanding by using the textbook Word Within the Word 1 by Michael Clay Thompson. Students will have vocabulary or Latin Stems tests usually every other week, opposite Novel quizzes. I look forward to engaging your child in reading.
